Meet the Designer behind Katherine Quist Interiors

Creativity has shaped every stage of my professional journey. After training at the prestigious Legat School of Classical Ballet, I enjoyed an international career as a professional dancer, touring throughout Asia and performing in cities including Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and Kuala Lumpur.

These experiences sparked a lifelong passion for design, exposing me to exceptional architecture, luxury hospitality, traditional craftsmanship, costume design, and theatrical set design. The cultural richness and visual beauty of Asia continue to inspire my interiors today.

Design has always been a natural part of my life. Long before establishing Katherine Quist Interiors, I was designing and styling homes for friends and family. This passion evolved into freelance interior design work in Asia, where I created turnkey homes for expatriates seeking beautifully furnished, move-in-ready spaces. 

Following my return to the UK, I worked with property developers, transforming homes to maximise their appeal and helping properties achieve successful and often swift sales.

Alongside my design work, I earned a BA (Hons) in Education, a PGCEi, and later graduated from The National Design Academy in 2017. My experience across mainstream and Special Educational Needs (SEN) education has given me a unique understanding of how environments influence wellbeing, confidence, learning, and behaviour.

I believe exceptional design lies in the details. From layout and colour palettes to furnishings, lighting, textures, and even fragrance, every element contributes to how a space feels. 

Today, I create elegant, highly personalised interiors that blend beauty, functionality, and wellbeing, helping clients create homes that are both timeless and deeply personal.
